Futsal: Pressure increasing at the bottom
The pressure continues to increase on York City Futsal towards the lower end of the table, and although not in action this weekend, they are sure to be keeping a close watch on proceedings elsewhere.
The Minstermen enjoyed an early two-goal ascendancy at FC Salisbury United in their latest fixture before their opponents eventually rallied for a 6-3 triumph; thus extracting suitable revenge for a defeat by the identical scoreline back in October.
That leaves National Super League newcomers York now eight matches without a victory and just three points above the drop-zone, although currently holding a game in hand on the two clubs immediately below them.
However, that pair actually meet in a key relegation encounter this weekend as Tranmere Rovers host Loughborough in Birkenhead.
Meanwhile, bottom club London Genesis, who also closed the gap when defeating Cambridge United 6-4 last Sunday, are travelling to Salisbury.

Pressure is increasing for National Super League newcomers York City
Previously clear leaders Reading Escolla now have only a single-point advantage at the top of the table and are next hosting Manchester.
But the game of the day witnesses second against third as London Helvecia visit Birmingham, while fourth-placed Cambridge welcome London City in the remaining fixture.
York currently have eight league games remaining, with Cambridge (next on 4th March), Tranmere, London Helvecia and Oxford still to arrive at the YorkSport Arena, in addition to scheduled visits to fellow new boys Tranmere and the full trio of capital clubs.
