Youth-team recover to draw

York City's youth-team picked up a 1-1 draw at Oldham Athletic in their latest Youth Alliance League fixture.

Striker Flynn McNaughton equalised for the visitors with his twelfth goal of the campaign following Zak Lawrence's second-half corner.

The Latics had earlier led but then had a player sent-off just before the break for his reaction to being challenged by midfielder Harry Thompson.

City's Josh Berry later struck the inside of a post as both sides chased maximum points on a difficult pitch.

The Minstermites have now lost just once in six games and next host Chesterfield at their Wigginton Road training ground on Saturday morning (kick-off 11.00am).

York City: Whitley, Kemp, Lawrence, Haswell, Rogerson, Watson, Berry, Thompson, McNaughton, Overton (Dyer 80), Steels (Harrison 70)

subs (unused): Wilton
